CULT CLASH: WE WILL REVENGE DEATH OF OUR SON-Slain Family
The Public Relations Officer, the Nigeria Police Force, Agbor Divisional Headquarters, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, ASP Martins Okorie in a press release declared that Mike Chuks, an indigene of Abavo Community is still a wanted person by the division and the Delta State police command over the murder of one Favour Akuje from Alisimie, Agbor, during a cult clash between Eiye and Black Axe in Agbor.
ASP Okorie disclosed that from the documented report, the fleeing Mike Chuks of the Black Axe confraternity was alleged to have killed Favour Akuje of the Eiye confraternity during a cult clash in March 2014.
According to him, “Mike Chuks has been on the run and nowhere to be found. The police and other security operatives are not relenting in bringing the suspected murderer to book even if it takes decades.
“Also, Mike Chuks is equally a wanted person for involvement in homosexual activity. His gay partner was reported to have escaped death by an angry mob after they were said to be caught in the act in one of the villages of Abraka Community in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
“My appeal goes to the Akuje family to still have patience with the police in bringing Mike Chuks to face the wrath of the law”.
The ASP used the opportunity to condemn the menace of continued cult killings between the Eiye and Black Axe cult groups in Agbor and environs while stating that they stand to gain nothing through killing each other.
Speaking to newsmen during a visit to the family home of the late Favour Akuje, his father, Mr. Jude Akuje lamented that the late Favour Akuje was his only son. He stressed that since the murder of his son, life has been unbearable for him.
Continuing, Mr. Akuje said his family has vowed to revenge the death of his son. He said for peace to reign, Mike Chuks, who I was told shot my son, must also die.
Recall that the member representing Ika South LGA constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Festus Okoh, also known as Chuky-Dandy had condemned in very strong words, the recurring cult-related killing of youths in the LGA. He appealed to the various security outfits to beef up security.
