Buhari’s Minister Reveals Where Tinubu’ll Start Working After May 29 Inauguration

Water Resources Minister Sulaiman Adamu has dismissed speculation that the new administration of President-elect Bola Tinubu will not pursue projects worth billions of naira under President Muhammadu Buhari‘s administration.
Adamu spoke in the background that Buhari’s administration will continue to work until May 29, when Tinubu will take office.

Speaking after a meeting of the Federal Executive Council yesterday, the minister said that some contracts may not be completed by the Buhari administration.

In response to questions about ongoing contracts, Adamu said the government is a continuum; therefore, pending contracts will be forwarded to Tinubu management.

According to Adamu:

“Government must continue to function regardless of elections.

“We do not control the process, but when it is completed, and we are still in office, we are duty-bound to bring these memos to Council for Council to approve. Government is a continuum. There are still a lot of memos.

“I can assure you a lot of contracts will not see the light of day in the next one week or two. And for those, we do not have any option but to let the process continue. And then for the next government to come and continue.”
