President-elect Senator Bola Tinubu on Tuesday congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State on his victory in the Supreme Court.
Tinubu, in a statement from his spokesman, Tunde Rahman, of Lagos, also urged Adeleke to act quickly to unify Osun.
The president-elect said that with the Supreme Court’s decision on the scuffle in the governor of Osun, everyone should obey the ruling. He also praised the former Governor of Osun, Adegboyega Oyetola, for being honorably acquitted during his first term.
Tinubu said,
“I congratulate Adeleke over his declaration by the Supreme Court as the winner of the Osun governorship election.
“The apex court in the land has spoken and all must obey its verdict.
“Oyetola discharged himself creditably in office.
“He lost the office but didn’t lose his integrity and reputation as the governor who brought efficiency, transparency and accountability to the business of governance.
“Now the matter of the July 16, 2022 Osun governorship election has been brought to a close.”
