“Any where you find yourself, outside your terrain, try as much as you can to lead a good life, so that you do not give your people a negative name. You are an ambassador of your community or state whenever you go out from there, hence your attitude and dispositions would be used to judge the entire people”. These were the words of Amb. Christian Paul Egilewe while addressing some youths in his community at a brief meeting yesterday.
The visionary youth leader and an African youth ambassador, yesterday 7/02/2021 gathered together some youths who were to resume for a sponsored skill acquisition program at the Delta State Vocational center, Mbiri for a brief chat. At the meeting, he first appreciated the sponsors who gave him the privilege to add his people to the program, while encouraging the participants not to take the opportunity for granted because it’s an all-expense paid, rather they should put in all efforts to make the best out of it, as it may be their source of livelihood.
On their side, the participants thanked him for bringing such development to the community, knowing that some supposed elite from the community has gotten such opportunities in the past but threw it to the wind. They assured not to let him or the sponsors down but write the community’s name with a golden pen on the world map.
Also present at the meeting was the community youths’ PRO, Mr. Edgar Ego, who commended the gesture of their son, encouraging him not to give up but continue his love for the community, especially the youths, as it would boost the growth of the community.
The Vocational training is proudly sponsored by Agbor Youth Circle (a sociocultural group) and National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ika South LGA chapter.
The meeting ended with some snapshots, as the participants were excited and quite anxious to get started with their training the next day.
