Peter Obi Is a Packaged Fraud – Sowore

Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has described his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi, as the best packaged fraud for Nigerians ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Sowore said this while reacting to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s claim on Channels TV on Thursday evening that he was not aware of any investment made by any of his predecessors in the state.

Obi who was the Governor of Anambra State from 2006 to 2014 had claimed that on behalf of the state, he invested millions of dollars in International Breweries Plc, a subsidiary of the world’s largest brewer, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) — a multinational drink and brewing giant based in Leuven, Belgium.

However, speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Soludo said that the purported investment of the sum of N1,955,535,247.00 (an equivalent of approximately $12,616,356.43 at the then average CBN exchange rate of N155.00/$1) by Obi is worth next to nothing.

Governor Soludo said,

“I think there was something I read about somebody speculating about whatever investment. With what I’ve seen today, the value of those investments is worth next to nothing. So, let’s leave that aside.”

In his reaction, Sowore wrote on his Twitter page saying, “Charles Chukwuma Soludo @CCSoludo unveiling and unraveling @PeterObi on @channelstv over his fake investment portfolios. He stated that the “purported investments are next to nothing” Peter Obi is the “best packaged” fraud! #WeCantContinueLikeThis @TakeItBack.”
