Nigerian police hand over Lagos election violators to INEC for prosecution

Four people accused of election violations have been handed over to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for prosecution by the Nigeria Police, Lagos State Command.
Lagos Police public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this to the Nigerian News Agency on Friday.

Hundeyin said that of the 23 people arrested during the presidential and legislative elections in Lagos State, six of them will be convicted of electoral and criminal acts.

He said two men and two women were handed over to INEC on Friday morning for alleged illegal possession of PVC and misappropriation of sensitive election documents.

The spokesman said two other suspects arrested on the same day will be prosecuted by police on charges of illegal weapons possession.
