INEC Declares Bassey Otu Winner Of Cross River Governorship Election
All Progressive Congress, APC gubernatorial candidates in Cross River State Bassey Otu have won 12 of the 15 local government area results so far declared by LGA collation officials on the night.
He defeated the closest rival and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Sandy Onor, who won in three local government areas.
Results from the remaining three local government areas, Obanliku, Boki, and Akamkpa, are awaited as the collection is suspended until Monday (today).
The 12 local government areas that Bassey won include Yala, Calabar Municipal, Calabar South, Obudu, Yakurr, Akpabuyo, Biase, Etung, Odukpani, Bakassi, Obubra, and Abi.
The three local government areas won by the PDP candidate are Ikom, Ogoja, and Bekwarra. There are 18 local government areas in the state of Cross River.
