The Lagos State Labor Party has indefinitely suspended six of its leaders, including incumbent President Kayode Salako, for allegedly engaging in anti-party and discrediting activities during the recent election. end.
LP Foreign Minister Sam Okpala revealed this during a press conference on Thursday at the party secretariat in Ikeja, Lagos.
Okpala listed the suspended leaders as:
Mr. Moshood Salvador (LP Senatorial Candidate, Lagos West), Mr. Mutiu Okunola (Ikeja House Representative Candidate), and MM. Theodore Ezeununara, Mr. Olumide Adesoyin, and Opeyemi Taiwo.
He said the suspension comes after the party received and approved the report of the disciplinary committee set up to investigate acts of anti-partisan activity against the leadership. Explaining that the decision was made at the State Work Commission meeting held on March 31, Okpala said that the leaders involved were found guilty of conduct against the progress of the LP.

“The Lagos State Labor Party has discovered that there is a lot of anti-party activity by people claiming to be party members in Lagos State.
“Our autopsy of what really happened during the general election shows that many people claiming to be party members actually worked for the opposition.
“With this information, Lagos State LP has established a Disciplinary Committee headed by one of the Party’s Vice Presidents to look into these allegations.
“As a docile party to the law, the committee gave all involved a fair trial and the opportunity to defend themselves and clear their name. “At the end of the financial year, the report was submitted to the LP State Work Commission, and at its meeting held on March 31, the Disciplinary Committee report was accepted and approved for implementation.”
He said that of the seven leaders involved, one Mr. Sunbo Onitiri, said he had resigned as an LP member.
“According to the relevant provisions of our constitution, the party has taken the decision to suspend them effective immediately.
“It is important to prevent others who may want to follow this despicable path again,” he added.
Okpala said the group cannot accept having enemies in its group.
The scribe lamented that the participating officers had openly shown solidarity and preferred to work with and support candidates from other parties in the polls. According to him, the relevant leaders continuously smeared/tarnished the image of the party’s candidates as well as the party’s state leadership apparatus in an inadequate manner.
He said their actions have caused LP’s reputation, so the suspension is effective immediately.
Okpala praised the people of Lagos and Nigerians for believing in LP’s vision and philosophy of creating a new Nigeria and supporting the party in the February 25 and March 18 general elections.
