JUST IN!!! APC Slams Governor Adeleke Over Rise In Kidnap In Osun State

The All Progressive Congress (APC) of Osun state has called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to stop taking security issues affecting the state lightly.
The party also noted that it is concerned about insecurity in Osun, especially before, during, and after the general election across the country.

The party, in a statement by its interim president, Tajudeen Lawal, also reiterated on Monday that no less than 30 opposition members, members of the APC, had been killed by thugs who were believed to be supposed to be sponsored by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). ).

While insisting that Governor Adeleke failed to guarantee the lives and property of residents, the party lamented that last week, specifically on Wednesday and Friday, two kidnappings occurred along Osogbo – Ikirun.

“As of the time of making this statement with the exception of a woman whose release was secured by the police on Sunday, the victims were said to still be in captivity.

“A caring governor would have either condemned the two kidnapping incidents in his territory within three days or rushed back from Abuja as the number one security officer of the state.

“It is saddening that as I speak, Governor Adeleke has no comment of condemnation to his credit on all the murder incidents that happened so far in his four-month-old administration.

“His handling of Osun affairs has shown that governance of a state is not a tea party which is the reason why it is not the best arrangement to make the state a laboratory for greenhorns in the management of the affairs of human beings and resources,” the acting state APC chairman hinted.”

Osun APC justified its claim that thug activity was on the rise by recounting how Governor Adeleke denied being attacked by thugs, only to have them brought to justice.

Recall that the Nigerian police, Osun Command revealed that a passenger among those abducted Friday along the Osogbo-Ikirun road, has been released.

Yemisi Opalola, a spokesman for the Osun Police Command, also revealed that efforts to secure the release of other abductees have already begun.

In the early hours of last Friday, passengers in a multi-purpose vehicle traveling on the Osogbo-Ikirun road were abducted except for the driver who managed to escape.

Osun was often rated as one of the most peaceful states in the country until the 2023 general election, when violent attacks were recorded. The hardest hit part of the state is the East Osun Upper Senate District which includes the Ife and Ijesa regions.
