Court Bars Lawyers, Journalists From Covering Abba Kyari’s Trial

Journalists covering the suspended DCP Abba Kyari trial and others on Tuesday were prevented from entering the trial venue, the 10th Court of the Federal Supreme Court in Abuja.
Judge Emeka Nwite issued the order at the request of National Drug Enforcement Agency, NDLEA attorney Sunday Joseph.

Joseph,  director of the NDLEA’s legal and prosecution division, had previously asked for the identity of a witness to be protected to testify at the trial.

Attorneys asked the court not to allow other lawyers, guests, litigants, and journalists to enter the courtroom during Tuesday’s hearing.

Judge Nwite later dropped the case to allow those not involved in the anti-drug case against the suspended officers to leave the courtroom.
