CBN Denies Telling Banks To Accept N500 And N1000 Old Notes

The Director of Corporate Communications at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Osita Nwanisobi, refuted reports claiming that CBN had asked banks to take back the old 500 and 1,000 naira notes.
In a Tweet via the Twitter microblogging platform,  Mr. Osita issued a statement asserting that the report of depository banks accepting old banknotes is false. He insisted on President Buhari’s order to deploy only old N200 bills.
