BREAKING: PDP Reverses Fayose, Others Suspension,Gives Reason

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, National Work Committee reviewed and rescinded the suspension of some of the party’s leaders on Thursday.
Members whose suspensions have been lifted include former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose; former Secretary General of the Federal Government Anyim Pius Anyim; Teacher. Dennis Ityavyar, Dr. Aslam Aliyu and H.E Ibrahim Shema.

This was made in a statement signed by the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba. He said the decision was made at his NWC meeting on Thursday, where members discussed at length about recent developments within the party.

“This decision does not affect the authority of the NWC to take necessary disciplinary action against any member of the Party at any time by the provisions of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2004). 2017).

“The NWC instructs all of our leaders, key stakeholders, and many members of our party across the country to adhere to the provisions of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017) as well as the spirit of and the need for reconciliation, unity and harmony in our Celebration at this important time.

“The PDP must remain focused as we continue to take all necessary steps to regain the stolen mission that the free Nigerians gave to our party and presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Court of Appeals for the Presidential Election,” the statement read.

He added, “The NWC has recognized the importance of full reconciliation between Party leaders and key stakeholders for a more cohesive Party for the benefit of our many members and the people. Nigeria in general. “Due to the foregoing, the NWC rescinds the referral of the Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Dr. Samuel Ortom, to the National Disciplinary Commission.”

According to reports, on March 23, 2023, the main opposition party suspended Fayose, Anyim, Professor Ityavyar, and Aslam Aliyu.

The suspension, which took effect last Thursday, was decided after a thorough review of the party’s affairs, by the provisions of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017).

The PDP also referred Ortom to the National Disciplinary Commission for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities.
