Born on the 5th of September, 1990 in Rivers state Nigeria, Mercy Nnenda Chinwo has always aspired to be a singer. Her father died when she was young and she took it upon herself to provide for her family.

Her music career and goals started from her being a chorister at the age of 8. From thence she moved to the adult choir and later became the music director of that assembly.

In 2012, she emerged winner of Nigerian Idol season 2, it was then she became noticed by many Nigerians. It was recorded that before then, she has been featured in songs Joe Praize, Preye, Chris Morgan, Sammie Okposo etc.

In 2013, she was starred in a movie called House of Gold. From 2015 till now, she has recorded more than 20 songs, one of which earned her more popularity was Excess love in 2018.
