Five Injured As Suspected Political Thugs Lays Manhunt On Ofili

Not less than five persons have sustained degree of injuries following the dreaded invasion of suspected political thugs at Ibusa community in Delta State.
The incident which threw residents and business owners into panic, occurred at the cool hours of Thursday, November 23, 2023.
Information gathered revealed that the thugs allegedly from the opposition political party in Delta State, All People’s Congress (APC), invaded Ibusa with a mission to kill the community youth leader of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) identified as Amaechi Onos Ofili .
An eyewitness account disclosed that the embattled Ofili was being hunted by the hoodlums for bearing an open witness to the loss of the gubernatorial candidate of the APC at the tribunal court for the just concluded 2023 general elections.
The source who craved anonymity said the thugs came in large numbers armed with guns and other dangerous weapons.
He said, “they entered Mr. Ofili’s house, and when they did not find him, they started shooting sporadically and chanting threat words that “Ofili must die. Anywhere we find Ofili, we will kill him because he has no place to hide as politics is not for children.”
The embattled Amaechi Onos Ofili , when contacted on phone said, he was lucky to have escaped the thugs as he has been hiding with his family while running for his dear life.
He also said the invasion was not the first attack on his life since after the election, and can no longer walk freely because of the death threats by the thugs. “They want to kill me because I strongly stood up for PDP to win the elections both at the polls and the court, respectively.”
“I have also received phone calls from unknown persons threatening to find me wherever I am and kill me and my family.
“I have lodged complaint to the police, and the officers promised to investigate the matter, but unfortunately, nothing has come out of it as their threat to my love have not stopped,” he added.
As at the time of filing this report, no arrest has been made to stop the threat on Ofili’s life.
