UPDATE!!! Lagos State PDP Publicity Minister talks about forming an alliance with LP

The Lagos State branch of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday said it had not formally discussed the possibility of a coalition with the Labor Party (LP) ahead of the gubernatorial and presidential elections on Monday. March 11 in the House of Representatives.
Hakeem Amode, Publicity Secretary of the Lagos PDP, said in a statement in Lagos.

Amode, who is also the Chairman of the Communications and Publicity Council of JandorFunke 2023, reacted to speculation from various regions that opposition parties in Lagos are planning to form a coalition before the election. on Saturday.

He said he was authoritative in debunking LP candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour’s claims that he was talking to “the real owners of the PDP structure in Lagos State”.

According to him, the statement attributed to Rhodes-Vivor is a lack of respect for the PDP, emphasizing that no one can make a claim to the party’s ownership structure. Amode’s statement is read in part,

“PDP is a proper democratic party and it is only the State Executive of the party as recognised by the National Body that can be described as the custodian of the PDP under the leadership of the party’s Governorship Candidate Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor).

“So, whoever Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour is talking to are only representing themselves and not Lagos PDP as there is no official conversation between the two parties at the moment.

“Jandor isn’t planning to step down for any candidate.”
