A 24 -year old man and a native of Agbor, in Delta State of Nigeria, Mr. Moseri Abraham has run for his dear life as police unravels plans to initiate him into a secret cult. The sad incident occurred on Sunday 24th, May 2016 when Abraham’s Cousin and a member of “Eiye

Confraternity,” Mr. Hossana Mordi alongside other members of the secret cult took Abraham to the bush to initiate him into their secret cult.
The 25-year second in Command of the Eiye Confraternity, Mr. Hossana mordi was shot dead by the police while trying to escape through the fence of his house as the other two of his gang members who gave their names as, Comrade Kingsley Ikechukwu and Mr. Emmanuel Okobia were arrested in their respective homes.
Confessing their evil deeds before the security agency, the suspects, Kingsley and Emmanuel said that problem started when the deceased, Hossana brought his cousin, Mr. Moseri Abraham for invitation. According to them, we initiated Abraham in the midnight on May 24, 2016 in the bush near Orogodo River where we normally meet. Few days later, that was later on Friday 27th May, 2016, we were in our homes when Abraham and his mother came to arrest us with three Police men. It was not our intention to initiate the innocent boy; it was Hossana who landed us into this mess. We are passionately appealing with the police and other security agencies to have mercy on us. We promise to repent and totally desist from anything that is inimical to the growth and development of Delta State in particular and Nigeria at large.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen on the 30th of May, 2016 Mrs. Patience Moseri, Abraham’s mother said that she was surprised when a Abraham came back home in the early hour of May 25th, 2016 with injury and blood stains all over his body. She empacsized that it was upon interrogation Abraham opened up to her that he was initiated by his cousin, Hossana and some members of Eiye Secret Cult.

She stressed that since she brought security agent to arrest the cultists, she has never set eyes on her son, Abraham whom she described as an obedient and respectful child. In her words,” the Divisional Police Officer ( DPO), ASP Okoro Nnamdi told me that he cannot guarantee me the safety of my son, Abraham and also said that Abraham should totally leave the country for the safety of his life. The DPO said that he was told by one of the suspects, Mr. Emmanuel Okobia, during his confession, that custom and tradition of their confraternity Abraham must be killed by other members of their secret cult whenever he is found anywhere in the State or County as that is the only way the matter can be solved.

He also said the suspects told him that even though my son cames back in 50 years time, the matter will not be settled until my son is dead, saying because it is their rules and principles to kill any member who violates their law to enable peace reign in their group.
Also speaking in an interview with Ika Weekly press, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Agbor Police Divisional Headquarters, ASP Okoro Nnamdi, assured members of the public that there are plans to checkmate cult activities. According to him,” with me, safety of lives and properties of Agbor residents are guaranteed. Fail not to come to me or provide us any useful information that will aid us in bringing the rival cult groups to book”, he stated.
As at the time of filing this report, the suspects are already cooling their heels at the Agbor Police Station while investigations are still on.
