TRAGEDY: DELTA IPOB LEADER IGWEBUIKE KILLED

One of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Delta State, Mr. Jude Igwebuike was on August 16, 2020 shot dead by unknown gunmen said to be in military uniform along the New Benin/Asaba Expressway off Otulu Junction in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Late Jude Igwebuike who was driving alone in his Toyota Camry Saloon Car was said to have been ambushed and shot dead while on his way to attend an IPOB meeting holding in an undisclosed venue in Anambra State.
Speaking to newsmen at the deceased family compound in Umunede, a family member who spoke in tears and on condition of anonymity said the Igwebuike family has been thrown into mourning following the gruesome murder of their son, brother and uncle, late Jude Igwebuike. According to the family source, “You can see everyone in tears and our hearts are broken. Late Jude Igwebuike is someone the entire Igwebuike family members will forever miss, especially for his philanthropic gesture which is exceptional.
“Our children’s education is seriously affected by the death of late Jude Igwebuike. Who have done this to us and who are we going to run to for our children that are under his scholarship, most especially those who are schooling abroad, somebody like Peter Uzoma, Frank Ugo Igwebuike, Stanley Obiazi among others.
“No doubt, the joy of Igwebuike family members have been cut short and we are beginning to lose our sense of reasoning for the fact that the pain of losing Jude Igwebuike in such a heartless manner is unbearable.

“With the death of Jude Igwebuike, we now live in fear because we do not know our attackers and what next they will be up to”, the source said.
Late Jude Igwebuike, an oil merchant is survived by wife and three children, a boy and two girls.
Meanwhile, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya when contacted confirmed the incident to be true and said investigation has commenced.
