Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State announced that former Anambra Governor Peter Obi has left the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for the Labor Party, LP, due to several PDP politicians who have made measures to ensure that power remained in the hands of the North.
Wike said so when welcoming the National Executive Committee of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Global to Government House, Port Harcourt on Thursday for a courtesy visit.
The governor said he was a major supporter of a southern president, insisting Obi decided to quit the DPP when former Jigawa state governor Sule Lamido told him (Obi) that power would continue in the north this year.
I said:
“I argue that strength must come from the south. When Peter Obi got here, I provided him with all the logistics, transportation, and other support and paid for the stadium, but the others signed up and I gave up. deny. By now you should know me too well.
“Obi ran with us. I found out when Obi left. He has principles and he says he can’t stand it, people should tell the truth.
“He went to see Sule Lamido in Jigawa, not in Dutse, but in a village more than four or five hours by road from the capital Dutse. “Do you know what he said to Obi?” He didn’t give her that look, you’re late and I picked one.
