The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the March 18 Ogun state gubernatorial election, Ladi Adebutu, stormed into the Election Complaints Court in Abeokuta to file a petition.
Recall that the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) declared Governor Dapo Abiodun of the Progressive All Peoples Congress (APC) the winner of the state gubernatorial election in Ogun.
Abiodun received a total of 276,298 votes to defeat Adebutu who collected 262,383 votes.
However, Adebutu said the election did not reflect the wishes of the masses, saying he did not lose the election.
To find a fix, the PDP candidate led a member of his legal team, Police Chief Gordy Uche (SAN), and party leaders to the court secretariat at the court in Isabo, Abeokuta to make a decision. submission of copies of the complaint. While Adebutu and PDP were the first and second plaintiffs respectively, INEC, Abiodun, and APC were joined as the first, second, and third defendants in the case.
Speaking to reporters after submitting the application, Adebutu said: “We are here today to pursue our democratic rights because we have had elections that we truly believe we represent. to the people fairly and the people responded by voting fairly for us in an election that we believed we had won.
“We will continue to pursue our duties within the framework of the law.”
Providing details on the petitions, Uche said they were filed on “four solid grounds”, hoping the Court “will do its best”.

“We have about three senior attorneys on our team and a bunch of other lawyers who are not only there because they get paid, but because they believe the arrest warrant was stolen and they also believe that this command can be restored.
“We have four pitches, very solid, but softer when the opponent tells you the pitches.
“Our prayers are simply that the right thing will be done and the winning man will be given the robe of office.”
