President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed how he will pass the time after stepping down on May 29 this year, when he will complete his second four-year term.
Mr. Buhari, who has been in power since 2015, is expected to hand over power to President-elect Bola Tinubu, his ally and party member, next month.

According to a statement from presidential communications aide Garba Shehu, Buhari plans to spend some time in Katsina before moving to Kaduna.

The President said so on Thursday when he met with the Forum of Progressive Governors, also known as APC Governors, at his state residence. APC governors, led by Governor Atiku Bagudu (PGF president), visited Buhari to congratulate him on the party’s electoral success in the February 25 and March 18 elections. Mr. Buhari spoke at length about his retirement proposal, saying he plans to stay at his home in Daura for six months before moving to Kaduna.

The Governor thanked Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna for the infrastructure he has provided that will significantly improve his retirement life and that of the people of the state. He also praised Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for doing the same.

The president also used the visit to slap Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Governor Peter Obi, saying: “An important reason why I congratulate Asiwaju’s victory is that the opposition has won support and hope. mistakes from the outside and continue to give the impression that they will win, that they will defeat us. How could anyone be more wrong? »

Bagudu, speaking on behalf of APC governors, said the ruling party had won the presidency and a majority in the National Assembly with Buhari’s backing. “Congratulations, your party won the presidency, won a majority in the Senate, and was the first party in the House. These successes would not have happened without your support,” said Governor Kebbi.

The governors present were from Plateau, Imo, Kwara, Ekiti, Kaduna, Kogi, Lagos, Cross River, Jigawa, Katsina, Ogun, and Nasarawa. Others present at the event included the vice governors of Kano, Gombe, Borno, and Ebonyi.
