POLICE, COMMUNITY DECLARES MICHAEL DICKSON WANTED FOR GAY
The Nigeria Police Force, Delta State Command, and the Owa-Alero Community in Ika North East Local Government Area have declared one Michael Dickson, a 19-year-old and father of two wanted for his involvement in gay practice.
Speaking in a press release, the Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Celestina Kalu said the command got a tipoff about Michael Dickson’s gay practice with his gay partner popularly called Iyadibe on December 31, 2014, behind Aliegwe Community Hall, Owa-Alero.
According to him, “On that fateful day, it is very sad that before we could hurry-up to apprehend the two of them, we meet the lifeless body of Iyadibe who was said to have been killed by an angry mob on the condition that gay and lesbianism practices are abominable acts in the land.
“Meanwhile, the whereabouts of Michael Dickson has remained a mystery as he was said to have escaped.
“Many of the community local vigilantes who stormed the scene to prevent the casualty and to save the gay partners from being killed sustained serious injuries.
“The command has declared Michael Dickson wanted for his gay act, and a copy of the declaration was sent to his family.
“In the continued search for the wanted Michael Dickson to face the wrath of the law for gay offences, the command had equally put in place strategies for his arrest as homosexuality conduct is against the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria and attracts 14 years jail term”.
ASP Kalu appealed to anyone with useful information that will lead to the arrest of the fleeing Michael Dickson to report to the nearest police station, assuring that the information will be treated confidentially and the informant handsomely rewarded.
Also, in a statement signed by the heads of quarters of Owa-Alero, Elder Ajuebon Atukpor of Idumuebor, Elder Odu Keogwu of Ali-Egwe, Elder Emeye Nmoye of Ali-Ugba, and Elder Teddy Kimekwu of Ali-Oye quarters respectively, they appealed that Michael Dickson should be brought to the community dead or alive to appease the gods of the land for the abominable act of homosexuality and to avert the wrath of the gods of the land for the evil act.
