Reactions As Tinubu Relocates To Defence House, Abuja

The President-elect, Bola Tinubu, will move to the Defense Guest House in the Maitama district of Abuja.
He will work at the Defense Guest House until he is sworn in as President on May 29, 2023.

The announcement comes just 24 hours after the Independent National Election Commission declared Tinubu the winner of the February 25 presidential election.

From the Defense Department, Mr. Tinubu will receive briefings and hold important meetings as president-elect. Speaking to Punch on Thursday,  APC PCC spokesman Festus Keyamo said he could not confirm the actual time at which the president-elect would move to his new residence.

However, this is not a new development as the current president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retired), also stayed in the same position for several months before taking office on May 29, 2015.

He then moved to his official residence at Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

According to the report, Tinubu, who polled 8,794,726 people, led Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party, who won 6,984,520 votes, and Peter Obi of the Labor Party, who won 6,984,520 votes. detected 6,101,533.
