Priest Sacked For Lavishing Church Funds On Women

Rt Rev Owen Nwokolo, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the Niger, has dismissed Rev Canon Sylvester LumenKristi Eboh, a priest in the diocese, for acts of insubordination.

Eboh had called out earlier this week about a threat to his life, stating that some religious forces were pursuing his life and had stolen his wife away from him.

The priest also announced that he had resigned as a priest in the diocese and would now focus on his private ministry, God in Action Adoration Ministry, Ogidi.

But, according to the Bishop of the Niger, Rt Rev Nwokolo, who briefed journalists in Awka on Thursday through the Deputy-Chancellor Diocese of the Niger, Barr Ben Uzuegbu (SAN), the priest never quit but was fired.

“For a long time, there have been a succession of complaints against the priest, and all attempts by the Bishop to call him to account for the claims against him have been ignored,” Uzuegbu added.

“This is a clergyman who went above and beyond to register a separate religious group without the church’s knowledge.

“Despite all of the allegations about this priest, attempts to bring him before the Bishop have been refused.”

“We should not have gone to the media with this, but because he has already done so, we feel compelled to call you all to tell you the whole thing.”

“Sylvester Lumen” is a fictional character. Kristi Eboh has been exploiting his religious organization to make a lot of money from naïve church members, which he then spends on women and a lavish lifestyle.

“A lawyer in Awka here has filed a complaint against him, alleging that he made love to a certain member of the church multiple times and put her in the family way.”

“Because of his lifestyle, his wife (the priest’s) is currently not living with him.” The wife reported severally to the church that her husband brought in a foreign lady as his secretary, who he later started sleeping with. He is reported to have beaten up his wife in front of this odd woman on multiple occasions. She’d had enough when she couldn’t take it any longer.

Uzuegbu stated that Eboh’s license has been revoked and that he is no longer a priest of the church, as well as urging church members to be wary of him, accusing him of being deeply involved in voodooism.
