Peter Obi To Be In Court Today Over BVAS Inspection Case

The Court of Appeals on Wednesday (today) is expected to rule on INEC’s request to allow the reconfiguration of BVAS machines deployed at more than 170,000 polling stations for the February 25 election.

A three-member panel headed by Judge Joseph Ikyegh also postponed ruling on a request filed by Peter Obi for permission to conduct a physical check on all BVAS used for the ballot. Obi’s attorney, Onyechi Ikpeazu, said the essence of the app is to allow them to extract data embedded in the BVAS, which represents actual polling station results.

Ikpeazu has asked the court to allow it to conduct a fact check on all BVAS used for the presidential election, as this is to ensure that the evidence is preserved before the BVAS is reconfigured by INEC.
