OSAS KELLY DECLARED WANTED AS EDO STATE POLICE PARADES 12 ROBBERY SUSPECTS
The Edo State police command has on December 15, 2020, paraded twelve (12) suspects who allegedly were accused of armed robbery and terrorism around the state capital.
According to information gathered, “The hoodlhms have become ‘above the law’ as they commit their nefarious crimes with reckless abandon”.
Luck however ran out of them when they tried to rob one retired police inspector, Mr. Sunday Iruekpen of his belongings, who managed to escape and immediately informed the case to the Iguebazoa police unit, which lead to the arrest of 4 members of the group, Osas John (23), George Ohiawere (23), Uyi Agathie (30), and Uriwahie Athanasius (28).
It was through confessional statements made by Mike Oziegbe, the police gathered that the stealing of electrical materials meant for electrification of upper Benin, which also led to the death of one security guard, was conducted by the group leader Osas Kelly, who is now at large.
It will be recalled that the electrical materials and a Volkswagen Golf car were stolen during the robbery at the state secretariat.
The police however have promised a handsome reward to anyone with vital information that will lead to the arrest and prosecution of Osas Kelly, whose photograph appears here, to please report to the nearest police station.
The 12 men criminal squad suspect is said to be arraigned in court soonest.
