OH MY GOD!! The APC campaign turns bloody in Bauchi as political thugs shoot at the gubernatorial candidate’s security guards
Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (rtd.), the candidate for governor of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Bauchi state, said three security guards accompanying him were shot dead.
He said they were shot during the recent violence in Duguri in the Alkaleri Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Sadique said his men recovered two guns from the thugs who carried out the attack.
He also raised concerns about the possibility of thugs being used on Election Day, saying the APC would not be threatened.
The former Air Force Chief of Staff challenged Governor Bala Mohammed to focus on governance issues in the state. On Wednesday, a person identified as Danlami Shata was killed following clashes between the APC and supporters of the People’s Democratic Party in the Alkaleri local government area in Bauchi state.
The incident happened in Duguri, the governor’s hometown.
APC gubernatorial candidate Sadiq Abubakar and former Speaker of the House Yakubu Dogara led the APC campaign in the city.
The PDP denied that their supporters blocked the passage of APC supporters, which sparked the fight.
PDP spokesman in the state, Yahya Zainabari, said the intervention of the Inspector General of Police will ensure law and order in the state throughout the operations.
