Naira Scarcity: LASU employee collapsed to death while queuing at the bank to withdraw 5,000 naira

According to Mr. Olaniyi, at around 11:30 a.m., the deceased left the office to let the bank withdraw money from his account. Meanwhile, he collapsed and died in the process.

He said the deceased only spent about 30 minutes in the queue when suddenly collapsed and could not regain consciousness. Olaniyi said he was taken to the university clinic for treatment but all attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

He said that while Mr. Adesola’s death was painful, the university wanted to document that it had more than one assistant and that the deceased was not one of them.

He said Mr. Adesola joined the university as a typist in 1986 and became the superintendent (accounts) at the 13th level.
