The Independent National Election Commission (INEC) gave a reason to postpone the state gubernatorial election for a week.

The exercise, which was originally scheduled to take place this Saturday, will now take place on March 18.

National Commissioner and Chairman of the Voter Education and Information Committee, Barr. Festus Okoye confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday night.

Okoye said the committee needed time to reconfigure the BVAS used for the February 25, 2023, presidential election. “For example, BVAS can only be activated on a specific date and time of an election.
