Nollywood actor and politician Desmond Elliot of All Progressives Congress (APC) won the council seat for Surulere 1 constituency in Lagos State.
The results were published by Dr. O.J. Fenuga, the returning officer of the Independent National Election Commission (INEC), after a bitterly contested election with a high turnout in the constituency.
After the final results, Elliot came in first with 17,877 votes while the Labor candidate came in second with 7,822 votes. Posting on Instagram to react to his victory, Elliot noted that he is open and willing to work with his opponents in the LGA election just held.
