KZN to face harsh penalties for flouting COVID-19 regulations

If you’re found to be flouting COVID-19 regulations in KZN, expect a harsh penalty.

Premier Sihle Zikalala warned that no big parties will be allowed this festive season.

He is also promising repercussions for organizers of the Ballito Matric Rage festival.

“The command council has taken a decision there must be consequences, we cannot leave the situation unattended,” Zikalala said.

Contact tracing of students who attended the event is underway.

Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize announced on Wednesday that South Africa has entered the second wave of COVID-19 infections.

Up to the last week, the increase was mainly in the Eastern and Western Cape in specific districts.
