Members of the Progressive Kogi State Congress (APC) will be in attendance today, Friday, to elect the flag bearer for the party’s governorship through a direct primary.
Addressing party members at a stakeholder meeting yesterday, Parliament Committee Chairman and Zamfara Governor Alhaji Bello Matawall said that only the newest financial members on of the register are entitled to vote.
The ones who fought in the primaries were Barr. Salami Ozigi Deedat, Hon. Usman Ododo, Dr. Sanusi Ohiare, Senator. Smart Adeyemi and Professor Stephen Ocheni. These are the main candidates.
Recalling that Kogi State Deputy Governor, Police Chief Edward Onoja on Thursday withdrew from the race for Governor of Kogi State.
Former accountants Jibrin Momoh and Asiru Idris, former commissioner of financial planning, budgeting, and economics also withdrew from the race. Banji Jimoh, Muhammad Jamiu Asuku, Friday Idachaba, and Hajia Halima Alfa also withdrew from the race.
Their withdrawal was announced by the returning officer of the APC Primary Governor, Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State.
