INEC starts distributing election materials in Lagos 

The Independent National Election Commission (INEC) began distributing sensitive election materials to 20 local governments in Lagos State today.
Remember that the election arbitrator previously fixed the presidential and legislative elections for Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Lagos Police’s director of public relations, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed in a tweet the beginning of the distribution of the documents, adding that the process is controlled by the State Police Commission, Idowu Owohunwa.

Idowu Owohunwa, the state police commissioner, said the force had not encountered any challenges so far and hoped the process would go smoothly.

Furthermore, Lagos Resident Election Commissioner Segun Agbaje, who oversees the process in the state, said INEC is ready for Saturday’s presidential and national elections, adding that the is kept confidential and intact.  The collection of sensitive documents and their distribution to the polling officers for further departure to the various local government offices of INEC took place at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Marina in the context of increased security.

Security officers, election observers, and other key stakeholders witnessed the massive rehearsal ahead of the election.
