HOMOSEXUALITY: POLICE, COMMUNITY DECLARES NKEMACHOR KELVIN WANTED
A 31-year-old indigene of Abavo Kingdom in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nkemachor Kelvin is currently on the run for homosexuality and has been declared wanted by the Nigeria police.
Law against homosexuality according to the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria attracts 14 years jail term. But because it is also considered an abominable act, persons who are caught always face mob justice which occasionally results in loss of life.
Speaking with journalists, the commandant of Abavo Vigilante Group, Mr. Charlie Gboma disclosed that on August 29, 2021, they were alerted of a mob action at the residence of Nkemachor in Abavo community and quickly responded only to discover that it was over the act of homosexuality involving one Nkemachor Kelvin and his partner identified as Isaiah Udoka who has already died on the spot.
Continuing, Mr. Gboma said he was reliably informed that the two persons were caught in the act by Nkemachor Kelvin’s mother who as the custom of the land demand, raised alarm because it is considered sacrilegious in the community for someone who sees the act not to raise alarm to be saved from the wrath of the gods of the land.
He further disclosed that before they arrived at the crime scene, Isaiah Udoka has dropped dead following a mob attack just as Nkemachor Kelvin was said to have disappeared from the scene with his whereabouts unknown.
The commandant of the security group declared that Nkemachor Kelvin remains a wanted person by Abavo Community and the Nigerian police, stressing that he must be brought to book to face the wrath of the law for the offense committed.
