In a 52-second video that went viral on social media, the former governor of Anambra state said he once confronted the APC leadership that if they wanted Nigeria to function as a progressive country, they should give Osinbajo the presidency. party president. ticket.
He said,
“I am desperate to see Nigeria working, I can’t hide it. I even confronted them if you want it, why didn’t you bring Osinbajo so that we can have people who want to work for the country?
“Nigeria needs a healthy person and someone like him working 24 hours. Let’s have the place working for everyone,” he added.
Recall that Obi filed a petition opposing Bola Tinubu’s victory of the APC announced by the Independent National Election Commission.
Obi, who came in third in the election, filed a request to challenge the poll’s results at the Presidential Electoral Complaints Court in Abuja around midnight Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
He alleges that the election had many irregularities, including that Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, were unqualified to run.
He also alleges that Tinubu failed to win a legal majority of votes in the elections, and also that he failed to win a quarter of the legal vote in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Obi also objected that the election being held was a serious violation of the law. Following the resumption of hearings today, the court adjourned the preliminary hearing on Obi’s claim against Tinubu to Friday, May 19, 2023.
