Guber election: We’ve rectified Presidential poll mistakes – Jigawa REC

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, said it had taken steps to address issues encountered in the February 25 presidential and legislative elections in Jigawa.

Resident Election Commissioner Professor Muhammad Lawan Bashar said in an interview with reporters about the committee’s preparations for the upcoming March 18 elections.

He said the Jigawa State Commission has received more than 20 petitions from various political parties and individuals across the state.

“We have received more than 20 petitions from political parties and candidates to date, as well as requests for certified copies of our ballots and results sheets.”

He explained that postponing the election to March 18, 2023, would give the committee an opportunity to correct past mistakes and omissions.

“We are taking steps to correct the errors, omissions, and problems we encountered during the presidential and congressional elections.”

The resident election commissioner said the commission had received all sensitive and non-sensitive documents for further distribution to local authorities. “The documents are being kept by CBN; We have arranged them under the supervision of our party agents and staff.

They advise voters to go out to vote and assure them that their votes will be counted.
