Election results: Gbajabiamila praises voters for historic victory for 6th term  

Speaker of the House, Representative Femi Gbajabiamila praised his constituents from Lagos State Surulere 1 Federal Constituency for having elected him for a 6th term.

According to a statement by Lanre Lasisi, Gbajabiamila Special Advisor for Media and Public Affairs, he hailed the success recorded to date in the presidential and National Assembly elections.

He collected 19,717 votes and defeated his closest opponent, Bosun Jeje of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who won 5,121 votes.

President Gbajabiamila said he remained grateful to the people of Surulere 1 for giving him a sixth term, noting that he would not let them down. He said that he will continue to work diligently and bring more development projects to Surulere and beyond.

“I am extremely grateful to the people of Surulere for their tremendous support. I don’t take your support for granted.

“As your representative for 20 years, I have always defended your interests. I am proud of you as my constituency. I thank our many supporters, Surulere APC leaders, party members, CDAs and residents for their enthusiastic support.

“This victory is not my own. It is the victory of democracy. Surulere has made history with my sixth term entrusted to me, which will motivate me to do more for you.” Gbajabiamila said.
