The results of the November/December 2022 high school certification exams will be announced, according to an announcement from the National Examinations Council (NECO) on Thursday.
The statement was made in Minna, State of Niger, by Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, Registrar of NECO.
A total of 59,124 people registered for the exam, including 31,316 male candidates (accounting for 52.96%) and 27,808 female candidates (accounting for 47.03%), according to NECO officials.
Wushishi added that the number of candidates taking the English exam was 58,012, of which 44,162, accounting for 76.13% obtained credits or more, while the number of candidates taking the math exam was 57,700, of which 43,096, accounting for 74.69 % of credits. and above. He further revealed that the number of applicants with five or more credits including English Language Arts and Mathematics was 33,914 or 57.36%.
“Also 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20% got five Credits and above irrespective of English Language and Mathematics,” he said.

Speaking of exam malpractice, he said, “11,419 candidates have been penalized for various forms of negligence, compared with 4,454 in 2021, showing a sharp increase in the number of cases of negligence.”
This, he says, is largely due to the improved strategy and techniques adopted by supervisory officers.
“This led to the blacklisting of four supervisors, one each from Rivers and Plateau States and two from Ogun State for aiding and abetting as well as poor supervision,” he said.
As a reminder that the External Examination for High School Certificate 2022 is conducted by NECO from November 21 to December 21, 2022, and is released 57 days from today.
Speaking more about the review, Wushishi said, a total of 29 subjects were reviewed as it was done in 2021.
