INEC To Hold Supplementary Elections In Rivers State On Saturday April 15

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has set Saturday, April 15, 2023, as the date for the by-elections in the federal constituencies of Port Harcourt II and Khana/Gokana.
Dr. Johnson Sinikiem, the state INEC resident election commissioner, said this in a statement released in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, April 11.

Sinikiem said the election will begin at 8 a.m.:
30:00 at LGAs and registration areas as well as in Khana districts 04 and 07, at 42 polling stations.

In Port Harcourt, he said, the election will be held at 377 polling stations in Wards 05, 10, and 28 respectively.

The statement reads in part:-

”The management of INEC in Rivers State wishes to inform all political parties and the entire public that the supplementary election for Port Harcourt II and Khana/Gokana federal constituencies earlier announced by the Commission will hold this Saturday, April 15, 2023 by 8.30am in the LGAs/registration areas.

The Commission, therefore, calls on all registered voters in the affected registration areas/polling units to come out en masse on the above-mentioned date to cast their votes and to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner and in accordance with the laid down guidelines.

Please be assured of our commitment to ensure a successful conclusion of the election.”
