DELTA STATE: ARMY, POLICE DECLARE BIAFRA NATIONAL YOUTH LEAGUE LEADERS WANTED
Following the tension that has gripped the country over ahead of I’m Biafra Day Celebration on May 30, 2021, the Nigerian Army and the Delta State Police Command have declared twenty-five (25) leaders of the Biafra National Youth League (BNYL) in the state wanted.
The wanted shortlisted leaders of BNYL includes, Isioma Okolie, Aniocha North Local Government, Mabel Ochie, Aniocha South Local Government, Sunday Angadi, Bomadi Local Government, John Iduwuni, Burutu Local Government Area, Sunny Ekere, Ethiope East Local Government, Maureen Ugbevbe, Ethiope West Local Government, Ekele Ikechukwu, Ika North East Local Government, Ujoegah Sunday, Ika South Local Government, Ambrose Mulu, Isoko North Local Government, Joy Emede, Isoko South Local Government, Amos Onyeije, Ndokwa East Local Government, Chioma Ikediashi, Ndokwa West Local Government, Andrew Arunuse, Okpe Local Government, Ikenna Chiweokwu, Oshimili North Local Government, Christopher Ojai, Oshimili South Local Government Area, Duru Kumboei, Patani Local Government Area, Onomena Oruna, Sapele Local Government, Sammy Oghior, Udu Local Government Area, Franklin Ohorhor, Ughelli North Local Government, Sandra Olomu, Ughelli South Local Government, Aki Ebubedike, Ukwuani Local Government, Cyril Operate, Uvwie Local Government, Sunshine Brahimi, Warri North Local Government and Bestman Isaba, Warri southwest Local Government.

According to the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeka, the tension has run so high that citizens now live in fear. Continuing, she said, “Police stations are being targeted and policemen killed in the process. This inhumane act is being perpetrated by these youths. As a result, the command alongside the Army have begun the search of the shortlisted leaders of the Biafra National Youth League (BNYL) in the state. If arrested will be charged to court”, she concluded
