DELTA LG ELECTION: OSADUME ONYEISI IWEGBU ESCAPE DEATH, DECLARED MISSING
A youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Osadume Onyeisi Iwegbu reported to have escaped death on the 25th, October, 2014 at a local government election held in his Igbodo community, Ika North East Local Government Area.


An eyewitness who claimed anonymity for safety of life disclosed that Mr. Osadume Onyeisi Iwegbu stood for free and fair election as against the decision of party delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rig the election in their favour.
According to the eyewitness, the peaceful election later turned into a do or die affair when the PDP delegates conceived that winning the Chairmanship position was going in favour of the APC candidate in the person of Engr. Teddy Jackson Ngwokor.
The PDP thugs were said to have come after Mr. Osadume Onyeisi Iwegbu to engage him in a fight and in the process overpowered him snatching away the ballot boxes.
Mr. Osadume Onyeisi Iwegbu was said to have ran for his dear life following the non-stop shooting by the PDP thugs that claimed lives.

Meanwhile, the father of Mr. Osadume Onyeisi Iwegbu, Mr. Iwegbu Afamefune Augustine has raised alarm that his son’s life was under threat by PDP thugs. He disclosed that the PDP thugs have vowed to kill Osadume whenever he is seen because they lost two of their members in the fracas and he has to pay with his life.
According to Mr. Iwegbu, “Since the election, PDP thugs have continued to invade my house in search of my son, Osadume whose whereabouts remain unknown.
“To worsen matter, the whereabouts of my son, Osadume has remained a course of concern to my household”.

While lamenting politics of bitterness played in the country, Mr. Iwegbu said he has reported the coming of the thugs who came to his house to Igbodo Police Division.
He also used the opportunity to cry out to the PDP chairman-elect, Barr. Francis Eborka to intervene and call the thugs to order.
