A man in his forties and father of three, Mr. Mishark Omodon from Ute-Alohen Community in Ute-Okpu Kingdom, Ika North East Local Government Area has reportedly been shot dead by members of Aromate confraternity on night of September 1, 2017.
A source from Omodon’s family who claimed anonymity for safety sake said late Mishark Omodon was murdered following a cult clash by the members of his cult group (Eiye) and the Aromate confraternity.
Continuing, the source said, “Late Mishark Omodon became a target for the Aromate cult group because he is one of the influential men of his Eiye cult group and his death will inflict more pain on the members of his cult group.
“The Omodon family kindred have been thrown into mourning following the gruesome murder of our son, brother, and uncle, late Mishark Omodon. We are all in tears and our hearts are broken. By his death, his three children, Happy Omodon, Roland Omodon, and Bethel Omodon have become orphans since their mother, Mrs. Mabel Omodon died while giving birth”.
The source further lamented the fate of the children of late Mishark Omodon without their parents, while calling on the Nigeria Police Force to bring his killers to book within the shortest period.
Confirming the murder of late Mishark Omodon to be true, the Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Andrew Aniamaka said the command has continued to sensitize the youths on the dangers of cultism. He described the act as callous and wicked; assuring that the perpetrators of the evil act will be brought to book.
