Reno Omokri, a former aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan, said President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu had been preparing his political ambitions for 2023 since 1998.
According to him, Tinubu has worked hard to put different people in high positions so that they also contribute to his rise to power, adding that the former Lagos Governor has appointed judges who are currently serving in court calling.
He also alleges that Tinubu promoted the political careers of Ahmad Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila, later turning many into billionaires.
The Nigerian author argues that Tinubu is well prepared for 2023 so the Court judges will likely treat him better than the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He wrote on Twitter on Wednesday that “Tinubu has been preparing for 2023 since 1998. He has a former commissioner from Lagos who is INEC’s top shooter. He has judges he appoints as governors, who currently sit on the Court of Appeals. He appointed Lawan as President of the Senate and appointed Gbajabiamila as President. A quarter of Buhari’s ministers were his appointees.
“He helped the owners of Oando and Alphabets become dollar billionaires. He has turned many journalists from paupers to multimillionaires. He is on excellent terms with army generals and has incorporated family members of leaders of our intelligence agencies into his patronage network.
“He even ordered the then CAN members of the House of Representatives from the Southwest to vote against a fellow Yoruba contestant for the Speakership in 2011 and instead support Aminu Tambuwal because part of his 2015 strategy against then-President Jonathan was to claim that his government was anti-Yoruba, and that would have been impossible if the PDP had a Yoruba speaker. Imagine that type of Machiavellian thinking!
“With his thorough preparation, justice might even treat him better than INEC.”
Omokri added that Tinubu learned his political tactics from Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola.
“Tinubu and Godswill Akpabio learned a lot from MKO Abiola. What money can’t do, more money can do. But Tinubu went further than Akpabio in that other than Olusegun Obasanjo, no Nigerian politician has perfected the art of suppressing emotions and learning to conquer like him.
“Instead of insulting its intelligence, as a PDP, study it and be smarter than it is. Don’t be too embarrassed to copy your playbook. This is how you become a chess grandmaster. You spend months studying your opponent’s games. We have to study Tinubu to defeat him like Erdogan studied Fethullah Gülen and then destroy his political base,” he added.
