The Department of State Services (DSS) has deployed its officers to the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in Lagos, PRESLOADED learned on Tuesday.
The staff, believed to be more than a dozen people, arrived at the re-education camp in the Apapa area late on Sunday afternoon, March 12.
Their presence is linked to a plot to assassinate one of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s daughters.
Osinbajo, a former Justice Commissioner in Lagos, and his wife Dolapo have two daughters Damilola and Kanyinsola, and a son Fiyinfoluwa.
Since their arrival in Kirikiri, DSS agents have been patrolling the inside and outside of the facility looking for an individual who has made a “serious threat”.
PRESLOADED discovered that the target, believed to be an inmate, was using a cell phone that the Secret Service tracked location.
“The DSS has been there since Sunday evening and of course, their presence has brought about some panic.
“The officers believe the person they are looking for is in one of the cells or somewhere around the prison,”
A source hinted.
DSS Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya requested a text message when contacted for a reaction. There was no reply as of press time.
