Following his doggedness with the agitation for the state of Biafra, the Delta North Coordinator of the Biafra Nations Youth League, Mr. Frank Ugo Igwebuike, a 32-year-old Umunede born in Ika North East Local Government Area has been declared wanted by the Nigerian Army and Police.
It was reliably gathered that Mr. Frank Ugo Igwebuike’s name was penciled among wanted persons seriously agitating for the creation of Biafra State having led many protests.
A security agent who claims anonymity when the army and police team stormed the family home of Igwebuike in Umunede on October 4, 2019, disclosed that the order from above is that Frank Ugo Igwebuike should be arrested with immediate effect for not honoring the invitation of the Nigeria Police Force. Continuing, he said, “Both the army and the police have been seriously searching for Frank Ugo Igwebuike everywhere with no result. We learned of his arrival in the country and we have come for him”.
A member of the Igwebuike’s family, Mr. Jude Igwebuike who is also a Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Delta State when further contacted on the matter said their family members are strongly behind Biafran agitation and that has made the government be against them.
Mr. Jude Igwebuike further stated that all they are demanding from the Nigerian government is freedom with the creation of the Sovereign State of Biafra. He revealed that the army and police stormed their resident on October 4, 2019, in search of his nephew, Frank Ugo Igwebuike who according to him has been on their wanted lists of the Biafra agitators.
It was reported that each time the army and the police storm the residence of Igwebuike in Umunede in search of Frank Ugo Igwebuike, the residents in the neighborhood and passers-by run for dear lives as those caught were always beaten blue-black for not giving information on his whereabouts.
As of the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of Frank Ugo Igwebuike remain unknown.
