The governor of Nasarawa state, Abdullahi Sule, has called for the peaceful coexistence of different religious groups in the state and urged people in the state to be on alert for anything that could lead to intolerance. religion.

Governor Sule, condemns provocative and inciting videos on social media, and warns against those who seek to use religion to sow division ahead of the March 11 governor and House elections.

The governor issued the warning during a meeting with leaders of Jaamatul Nasril Islam (JNI) and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Saturday at Government House, saying it harms peace, unity, and development of the state and the country.

The Governor explained that the State of Nasarawa cannot afford to have a religious war due to the heterogeneous composition in which members of the same family belong to different religions, and pointed out that the state has always been considered a peace.

According to him:
“The nature of the reunion is, in fact, due to a very unfortunate situation that is beginning to unfold in our state.”

He called on religious leaders to use their offices to intervene to warn their followers not to use inflammatory statements for political gain and instead work together for development. governments.
