ABAVO OBISHIP TUSSLE: UCHE IRENUMA IS AFTER OUR SON’S LIFE- Izoje Family Cries
The Izoje kindred of Central Quarters, Abavo in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State has raised an alarm of threat to life of one of their sons, Mr. Donatus Izoje by Obi Uche Irenuma II, the monarch of Abavo Kingdom.
Addressing newsmen, the spokesman of Izoje family, Elder Moses Izoje cried out that Obi Uche Irenuma is after the life of Donatus Izoje, the son of their late brother and uncle, late Chief George Esokpan Izoje, for leading a protest of a concerned group of youths by name Justice Must Prevail (JMP) calling for the rightful person to ascend the throne of their forefathers.
According to him, “Without mincing words, the lingering Abavo kingship tussle has continued to cause loss of lives, destruction of properties, and breach of peace in Abavo kingdom. Our son, Donatus Izoje had through his group, JMP lent his voice to the majority of Abavo people calling for the removal of Obi Uche Irenuma from being a usurper and installing the rightful owner Prince Sunday Ekhator.
“The JMP group is made up of influential youths, men, and women of Abavo who have vowed that Irenuma must be dethroned no matter how long it takes.
“Obi Uche Irenuma had on several occasions sent his thugs after Donatus to kill him because the JMP group posed a great threat to his stay on the stool as Abavo monarch.
“The declaration that Obi Irenuma is the authentic Abavo monarch by the High Court of Justice 4 sitting in Asaba on November 21 2018 led many to flee for the safety of their lives because the monarch is unforgiving and deadly”.
Continuing, Elder Izoje revealed that he had gone to the police to report the threat made by Obi Irunuma to kill Donatus but nothing was done, saying that the Izoje kindred and especially his immediate family’s greatest worry is the safety of Donatus.
