N27,171, 400, and N21,900 were recovered by FRSC Osun Regional Command from the scene of the fatal car crash that left six people dead on the morning of Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

Agnes Ogungbemi, Public Education Director of Osun Region, FRSC, who confirmed the incident said that N27,171,400 has been handed over to relatives of the victims while N21,900 of the driver has been discussed. assigned to the Ijebu-Ijesa police.
“The accident involved 11 males and three females. Six males lost their lives, while seven others sustained severe injuries and only one person was unhurt. The injured victims were taken to Wesley hospital Ilesa while bodies were deposited at the same hospital morgue,” Ogunyemi stated.

Speaking to Nigerian Radio reporter Isaac Haastrup shortly after handing over money to the relatives of the victims represented by leaders of the Hausa community in Ijesaland, Ipetu-Ijesa Unit Commander, Deputy Army Commander group, Bamide Ayanwale attributed the accident to dangerous overtaking and speeding.
He warned drivers using the Ipetu-Ijesa highway to drive carefully to avoid damage to people and property.
On behalf of the Hausa community leader receiving the money, Alhaji Isiaka Alilu thanked the FRSC officers, especially the relief team leader, Mr. R.A Omolekulo, for the patriotism and sincerity that engraved the team’s name in their hearts.
The money was given to family members of the victims in the presence of staff from Nigerian Air Base Ipetu Ijesa and members of NURTW.
