Easter: FG Announces Friday, Monday Public Holiday

The federal government has declared Friday and Monday, April 7 and 10, 2023 as public holidays to mark Easter 2023.
Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola announced this in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to Aregbesola, in a statement signed by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Shuaib Begore, on Wednesday called on Christians to emulate the virtues of sacrifice, unity, forgiveness, benevolence, love, and peace. peace and patience are attributes and practices of Jesus Christ, as exemplified. by his ministry on earth.

The Minister appealed to Christians and all Nigerians on this Easter occasion to pray for an end to security problems in some parts of the country.

He said

“Security is everybody’s business. I, therefore, urge Nigerians and foreigners resident in our country to display a high sense of citizenship and public spiritedness by supporting the efforts of all security agencies in bringing peace and security of lives and property of the citizenry”.

 

The Minister assures that the federal government is doing everything necessary to ensure a peaceful transition of government following peaceful elections.
