-As Igbodo Monarch Condemns Attack
A 20-year-old indigene of Idumu-Obior in Igbodo, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. John Ogbolu is currently on the run following an alleged threat to his life by thugs of Hon. Doris Uboh, House of Representatives candidate of the Accord Party (AP).
Lamenting John Ogbolu’s disappearance, his father, Mr. Valentine Ogbolu said his son whose life was under threat fled the hospital he was rushed to for treatment after he was brutally attacked. According to him, “Hon. Uboh’s thugs are after my son to kill him for revealing Uboh’s secret plan to rig the election in her favour. Having lost out to Hon. Victor Nwokolo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uboh’s thugs attacked my son but for the intervention of soldiers, he would have been killed.
“It was a bloody electioneering process with Uboh’s thugs attacking at will many that deprived their principal of winning the election through malpractice. As the first attack was not enough, Uboh’s thugs kept coming to my house in search of my son, threatening to gun him down whenever he was seen just like others who contributed to their failure.
“As a single parent, the whereabouts of my son John Ogbolu is the trauma my family and I are going through. Our fear and worry is his safety because his life has been under serious threat”.
While further lamenting the politics of bitterness played in the country, Mr. Valentine Ogbolu said the matter has been reported to the Police for investigation, stating that his son, John only stood for a free and fair election, even as he cried out for justice.
Meanwhile, Hon. Doris Uboh through her Media Director, Mr. Chiedu Godwin denied having a hand in the disappearance of John Ogbolu and other murder cases as alleged.
The Igbodo monarch, HRM Obi Ikeckukwu Nkeobikwu Osedume I, has condemned in totality the attack on John Ogbolu by Doris Uboh’s thugs for revealing their plan to rig the House of Representatives election. He also frowned at the politics of bitterness Nigerian politicians play, stating that politics should not be a do or die affair. He lamented that John Ogbolu would have been dead assuming he had not run for his life
